A snake entered a woman’s ear

A woman, Ashley Glawe, had her pet ball python, Bart, slither into her ear because he was attracted to the large hole of her ear gauge, as snakes are drawn to dark, enclosed spaces. The incident was unexpected, as Glawe was trying to take selfies with the snake, which had been resting on her shoulder. She was able to get the snake out with medical help after the fire department failed, and both the woman and the snake were unharmed.

How the incident occurred:

  • Gauged ear:The woman, Ashley Glawe, had an earlobe with a large hole for a gauge.
  • Attraction to holes:Snakes are naturally attracted to enclosed spaces and holes, as this is a natural behavior for them to hide or seek shelter.
  • Pet snake interaction:While taking selfies, Glawe’s pet python, Bart, was on her shoulder and saw the open space of her ear gauge.
  • Slithered in:The snake slithered through the hole in her earlobe, which is why she described it as him “forcing his way through”.

Aftermath and rescue:

  • Medical intervention: After failing to remove the snake herself, Glawe went to the emergency room.
  • Successful removal: Doctors were able to remove the snake by numbing her ear and using lubrication.
  • No serious harm: Both the woman and the pet python were fine after the incident.
